AI moves faster than any single person can track. A new frontier model, a research preprint, an open-source project, a policy shift — most of it is signal that matters to the people building with these tools, buried in a flood of takes that don’t. Reading everything is not a strategy. Reading nothing is not either.

Nybble takes the position that a good daily read is a short one written by people who have done the filtering for you, and that the concepts underneath the news are worth actually understanding, not just recognising. That is what the three modes are for.

One app, three modes. Snack is the news feed. Stack is the concept library. Hack is the practice you use to check whether any of it stuck.

Snack summaries are original editorial writing produced with the help of automated tools. We read the source, decide whether it is worth your two minutes, write a summary that stands on its own, and link back to the original. We do not republish full articles, we do not repost paywalled content, and we always credit the publisher.

Stack explainers and Hack modules are written the same way — human-directed, tool-assisted, reviewed before publication. Anything that ships can be wrong; the linked source is always the authority, and readers can flag mistakes at bytes@getnybble.com.

Reading is more rewarding when your progress is visible. Nybble tracks a daily reading streak and awards bits (four bits make one nybble) for things worth doing: reading the day’s Snack, working through a Stack lesson, completing a Hack quiz. Milestones unlock badges. Streaks are timezone-aware so the day rolls over at midnight where you are. There are also weekly leaderboards, which rank on what you learn rather than what you spend, and which you can leave from your profile.

Bits are also what you spend. Courses, lessons, and most quiz modules are unlocked with bits, which is how the catalogue stays reachable without paying — you earn your way to it. Anything you unlock is yours permanently.

Bits are not money. They cannot be sold, transferred between accounts, cashed out, or redeemed for anything of value outside Nybble, and you cannot buy them on their own. A paid plan includes a yearly bit allowance as one part of what it covers.

Nybble is free. The daily news read needs no account at all, and everything else is reachable without paying: you unlock courses, lessons, and quizzes with bits you earn by showing up, and every course becomes free to everyone twelve months after it is published. Nothing is locked away forever behind a payment.

What a subscription changes is pace, not access. It gives you a yearly bit allowance instead of earning each one, and earlier access to new courses. If you are happy to learn a lesson at a time, the free path gets you to exactly the same place — it just takes longer. That is the whole difference, and the pricing page lays it out in full.

You are never required to pay to keep an account, to keep your streak, or to keep anything you have already unlocked.

Pass a quiz module at 80% or better and you can claim a certificate for it, or for the course it completes. Each one gets a public verification page, so anyone you send it to can check it is real without an account and without taking your word for it. Certificates already issued to you stay valid whether or not you keep subscribing.

• Free to use. Snack, Stack, and Hack are all usable without paying. Paying changes how fast you get through the catalogue, never whether you can.
• No ads. We do not show display ads, sponsored posts dressed up as editorial, or affiliate links inside summaries, and we do not take payment to cover a story. If we introduce advertising, subscribers will not see it, and we will say so here before it happens.
• No data sales. Your personal data is never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers, and it is never used to train AI models. Our analytics are cookieless and aggregate. See our privacy policy for the specifics.
• Sources always credited. Every Snack card names its publisher and links to the original article.
• Correct and honest about limits. AI-assisted writing can be wrong. When it is, we fix it and say so.
