JarvisHub: An Open Harness for Canvas-Native Multimodal Creative Agents

Yunlong Lin, Zixu Lin, Zhaohu Xing, Biqiang Li et al. · arXiv · 2026

Abstract

Proposes a harness for creative agents that keeps an editable canvas — not a chat log — as the shared workspace. The canvas doubles as the agent's external memory, its action space, and the project state, so drafts, alternatives, edits, abandoned attempts, and version relationships all persist instead of being discarded between turns. The argument is that long-horizon creative production breaks when a system treats generation as isolated prompt-and-output exchanges.

Why it matters

A concrete answer to a problem every agent builder eventually hits: a chat transcript is a poor substitute for project state. The canvas-as-memory framing generalises well past creative tools.
